Beth--was laid off April 25th from Maximus. There was a total of 1600 employees. I've been thinking about finishing my degrees. Just recently found out that I'm 5 classes away from getting my associates in criminal justice and 8 classes from getting my bachelors in healthcare administration with an emphasis on emergency services. Also have been trying to find a new job although the job market here is bad.
Jared--been laid off since Nov of last year and hasn't been able to find a job with his trade as a journeyman plumber. He has been getting side jobs here and there.
Jacob--passed 4th grade. He bridges over next spring to become a Boy Scout. He just got done playing baseball and found his sport that he is happy. He may start summer school at the end of June to the end of July.
Alysa--still not up to speed with her talking yet. Been a little discouraged about that. Have been going through the infant & toddler program but feel as it is not helping much. She is almost 3 already. Where does the time go?
Alex--Jared's niece is now living with us. She has been with us since May. Been looking for a new place. She will be a 9th grader next year and the nice thing is that her school is next to Jacob's so she will be able to walk with him home next year. We are trying to get guardianship of her and right now we have power of attorney over her. Hope everything here soon falls back in place.
The few things that keep me going now a days is having The Lord on my side to help us deal with the anger, pain, and everything else that his brother has caused on his side of the family. All I can do is keep praying about the situation and hopefully we'll all get the strength to get past this rough patch. I have my kids to get me going to do the things I need to although it can be rough right now. I have to truly appreciate and be grateful that my parents are not letting us go homeless right now. Just thought I would update the blog for the family and friends that do read this.
